Hailey began her career as a staff reporter for the Crimson White in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, during the aftermath of the April 2011 tornado “super outbreak.” She developed an approach to storytelling rooted in shared presence, record-keeping, and continuity amidst devastating conditions of fragmentation.
